I spotted this monthly blogging challenge over at Deb’s Blog, and as a creative spirit, it piqued my curiosity.
What is the Global Tell Us About Challenge?
Tell Us About…is a monthly opportunity for bloggers to showcase their creativity.
Each month one of the co-hosts will choose a theme to focus on, and everyone is welcome to join in, by writing a post, linking up, sharing a comment or a post on other social media platforms. There are no rules, and we can write anything related to the topic and in any format.
UPCYCLING AND REPURPOSING
Am I creative? Yes, I like to think so. The creative mind never rests… whether you are opening a bottle of wine and wondering what you can create using corks, especially the corks where the end is coloured a deep burgundy – which prompts the idea of maybe a cork picture/frame; the broken swimming pool tiles, broken mirror you find dumped at the rubbish bins along with a discarded garden table; broken pots; old furniture such as side tables, upright chairs – maybe repurpose as plant stands? Pallets, wood et al. The creative juices start to flow (with or without wine), and an idea is born!
Our garage is full to bursting with ‘junk’ waiting to be transformed. I even have Mr Piglet hooked on repurposing and upcycling now, and he often returns home with treasure.
Many years ago, I attended a stained glass and mosaic group and created several projects. Sadly, the teacher got sick and retired. Then came Covid. I still work on mosaics from time to time, but as I’ve developed arthritis in the fingers of my right hand, I find the pressure of using the nippers too painful to cut glass to certain shapes … Here are just a small selection of some of my projects
Recently I have joined an art group and I am learning to age pots and create textured pictures. This is fun. I love it!

PAINTING
I love to paint and have discovered my passion lies with acrylics.

MUSICAL INSTRUMENT?
Yes, I used to play the classical guitar until I got carpal tunnel.
WRITING
Yep, I used to write poetry, but once my brilliant poetry friend and mentor sadly passed away at just 27, I lost my poetry mojo.
I recorded one of my poems here

BOOKS – yep, I was approached to co-author three. A fourth was planned and sketched out, but I no longer have the mental energy.
CREATIVE GARDENING
Oh, yes. Both Mr Piglet and I enjoy getting creative in the garden.
Now I am off to Debs blog to check out more creative spirits!

I’m sorry it took me so long to visit! You, indeed, are just bursting with creativity! I’m intrigued by your latest venture…aging pots and creating textured art. Your painting is amazing! I love it all! Thanks for linking up with us!

That’s so cool! I rarely meet other bloggers who live here, especially other bloggers who are also authors AND creatives!! I’m in between Portimao and Monchique. I’d love to meet you one of these days!

Absolutely you are ringing lots of bells on the creativity chart! Kudos on the published books. I want to do a mosaic tile table top so will be looking at those posts.

Thanks, Bernie. the tables were great fun. I’d like to create another but I don’t have anywhere to put it!
You are also VERY creative when you sit still and not on your travels. 🙂

I am impressed with the breadth of your creativity! I like to think I have creative ideas, but I’m not so great at their execution!

Wow. three books! Well done! (and yes, I know what a hairy eye ball is so that must be an eglish expression?)
I love most that you talked about recycling and repurposing because yes, that is definitely using your creativity and very importantly too!
Great post!

Thank you for stopping by. Haha… hairy eyeball is apparently is American lingo. My co author lives in N. Idaho.
Recycling and repurposing has become a passion of mine. I need to learn to use my sewing machine so I can take it to the next level.
