I thought Javali were nocturnal. Apparently not. These cute little piggies were out for a Sunday stroll in the sunshine. I think we were more nervous of them than they were of us.

Impressive! They usually don’t get that close to population. Where was that exactly? They look like very well fed and happy javalis, hope no one got them for dinner 😦

This was on the road to Arrifana. I also hope nobody killed one for dinner.

Maybe when she has had her babies she will be less friendly.

I saw my first wild boar up in Yorkshire last month. They were a very noisy pack!

Well I’ll be – not only does Portugal have similar flora to the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, but the fauna is similar as well. The wild pigs here are called Javalinas and look almost identical to yours.

The world is a small place. 🙂 I am just glad we don’t have bears, moose and cayote … and racoons

I love pigs! One looks as she is having babies soon. Thank you for this awe-moment looking at your pictures today. I had 12 pigs (miniature pigs) when we lived in sweden. Our cat lived with them.

Anna, as you can probably tell by my name I also LOVE Pigs. I wondered if one of the pigs was having babies.
You were so lucky to have pigs. I have pig envy. WEre they the Vietnamese Pot Belly pigs?
In all our time here I’ve never seen them so close to us.
