The weather has been kind this week. No ongoing sweltering temperatures in the thirties, creeping to nearly forty C (unlike the UK) to contend with and we even had some rain, albeit a brief shower…. so we have been busy pottering in the garden and completing a couple of projects. More on that next week.. Whatever the weather, the flowers (dare I say) are thriving and making sure they all have enough water means that I’ve had plenty of exercise. I’d like to do more but I’ve learned to pace myself.
For my Six for this Saturday, I decided to offer a photo diary of some of the plants in bloom.
I’m not sure if this an hibiscus or a mallow. I brought back a couple of cuttings from our daughter’s garden in France about 2-3 years ago. This year it has decided to shape up. All I know about the shrub is that it is deciduous.

My Favourite Flower IS?
Hibiscuses

Magnificent Hydrangeas

Dipladenias

Oleanders in flower

Succulents in Flower

And finally a couple of bonus pics

That’s it for my Six for this Saturday, folks. Now I’m off to pot up some apple cucumbers and tomatoes. That’s it on the veg front.
My thanks to Jim for hosting the Garden MEME.

Oh, beautiful! I especially like the picture of the pool. Water and flowers and stone are a winning combination.

A lovely selection. Number 1 is a/an hibiscus, with it’s almost oak-like leaves. Mine has yet to flower.

Mild and pleasant weather in Portugal and a heatwave in France..?! that’s the opposite of the usual situation, isn’t it? Your hydrangeas are magnificent ; here, they are exhausted by the 40°C heat, but it’s coming to an end (soon)!

Lovely garden! Reminds me if San Diego, where I grew up. Many of the same plants used in gardens. Glad you did not have the heat. We are getting it next week, and are asked to work from home to the extent possible. I will go in tomorrow since I have been off all week, and will try to avoid going in the rest of the time. More time in the garden!
