How Was Your Week? Easter Break

If we were having a coffee or a cocktail, I’d apologise for rocking up a day late for the weekend coffee share. Even my Six on Saturday garden meme organised by Jimbecame Six on Sunday, and it’s Monday already. I’m not sure if the unexpected appearance of sunshine for the whole week has addled my brain or what, but time slipped away. Or maybe it’s because everything seems to take me twice as long these days. No, I have become disorganised and easily distracted. I used to keep a Day Book where I’d write a list of jobs I wanted to achieve that day, and I found that helped.

Do you make a job list to keep you on track, motivated and focused?

Aircon – I would also tell you we have spent the last week focused on obtaining air conditioning quotes. Not that we want air conditioning to cool the place down in summer, but for heat as an alternative to our log-burning fires. Something we can turn on at the flick of a switch. Something not as labour-intensive as stacking and humping logs. We looked at some of our friends’ units, checked BTUs, installation methods, and their suppliers, but it seems the prices we were quoted this week were double and even triple the prices our friends paid a year to 15 months ago. We wonder if we have the word MUG stamped on our foreheads. When Mr P queried the price with one company, she put the phone down!

Nifty Ninja –

At Christmas, our son and his wife, knowing how much I love cocktails, gifted us a Ninja drinks maker. It is a machine that makes frozen or slush-puppy-style drinks. Anyway, the hot weather prompted us to start using it, and Mr P made me a Blue Lagoon enough for two big glasses, which I sipped in the sunshine. No wonder I didn’t get much work done that afternoon.

Easter Sunday – As we had our traditional Easter turkey and trimmings on Good Friday just as I was beginning to panic what special dinner I’d cook Easter Sunday Mr. P surprised me and booked one of my favourite restaurants with amazing sea views, O Paulo’s in Arrifana.
