Mosquito Poem: Lucky Jim

I have a pet mosquito he has one hundred lives
I like to call him Lucky Jim because he ducks and dives.

His agility’s amazing as I chase him with the bat
Up and down and round and round, it’s surprising I’m so fat!

Jim’s such a friendly fellow, a loyal companion by my side
Although I’ve tried to swat him, with me he still resides

While digging in the garden, he’s a-buzzing round my head
Jim even whistles lullabies when I go to bed.

Even when swimming lengths, Jim’s still whining in my ear,
and when I dive under, he waits–patiently–’til I reappear.

I’ve tried to kill him many times, yet he still lives to tell the tale
And every time he feasts on me, my skin resembles Braille!

I shared this fun poem a few years back. Time for a reminder 🙂

  1. Despite all of the humidity and recent torrential rains in south Texas, mosquitoes weren’t an issue. They come in cycles here in southern Saskatchewan. There was lots more moisture here this past winter with all of the snow, so I imagine it’ll be a mosquitoy (if that’s a word, lol) summer. Cute poem, Carole!

    1. I remember our trip to Canada and the tour guide joked they had mosquitoes the size of eagles and gave us lily-white skin tourists special ltion to layer on.

I hope you are not plagued and you have a mosquitoy summer. I’ve just pooped into the garden, forgot to lotion up and my arm resembles Braille and I have a bit on my eyelid. HEre’s to summer LoL
