The Rota Petisco (Tapas/snack route) starts on the 4th October through to the 4th of November. There are 277 participating establishments along the Algarve. So wherever you are located (from Odeceixe in the west to Odeleite in the east) you have no excuse not to participate.
Each establishment will have a set snack + drink for just €3.00, or dessert + drink for €2.00. What a bargain! Check your passport booklet for details.

To join the snack (tapa) route you will need a Rota Passport which is a booklet listing all participating restaurants, location maps, set snack available and hours in which the Rota do Petisco dish will be available. Fortunately, you can buy your passport at any participating establishments for just €1. The money raised from the passports will be used to support local charities.

The passport has a useful legend with symbols to indicate if a place is wheelchair friendly, has a opçaõ vegetaariana (vegetarian option), offers a doce (dessert) instead of a petisco (snack) and is part of the children or chef’s trail.

To add to your gastronomic experience you also have the opportunity to win prizes. Check out the Rota Awards on the Rota website.
Tip: Do pay close attention to the times that the passport is valid as some establishments only participate in the evening.
