Taking a Break – Gone Fishing

Hey, I haven’t disappeared. I’ve decided to take a couple of months’ break over the summer from Facebook, the news, and probably blogging so I can concentrate on other projects and regain some much-needed karma. Facebook – Doom-scrolling has become addictive and invasive, and I swear if I get one more advert trying to persuade me to buy into Tai Chi walking, or trying to convince me this or that food is bad for my health… or whatever. Rainbow flags, English Flags, two-tier policing, this and that, and watching as women’s hard-won rights are being eroded… the murder of Ann Widcombe and some of the vile comments that followed, and that’s before the threat of doom and destruction… I’ve had enough. Given the avalanche of information, misinformation and disinformation, I’ve decided to go fishing. Pour a glass of wine. Float on the pool and listen to the birds.

Speak soon.

  1. Enjoy your break Carole. Totally understand. I came back to Facebook after many years just to join one particular group and I really wish you did not get bombarded with a variety of posts. In the beginning of it all, you merely saw in your feed what you actually subscribed to. Hate this nonsense. Peace to you.

  2. Enjoy your break, Carole! It’ll be good for your mind, body, and soul. I did the same a few years back and I felt like I was on vacation at a high end spa!
