If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I had a great week. I keep telling myself to learn to live in the moment and not stress about things that are out of my control. Enjoy the precious moment of here and now. Learning to live in the moment is certainly easier when the rain is not dampening your spirits, the sun’s rays warm your face, and the sky is blue. Yep, the sun has been shining ALL week. And I have managed to maintain my weight loss and NOT given way to temptation and eaten any desserts or biscuits.
Physio. Good news – my physiotherapist managed to release some of the tension in my back and gave me some exercises. The massage worked for a couple of days, but then the pain returned. Bad news. She is on holiday next week.
The perfect sundowner. After physio, we went to Lagos Marina for a cocktail and a meal at Portofino’s.

The weather was perfect. Sunny with no breeze. Sadly, they are spoiling Lagos. Apartment blocks are springing up like weeds, as are hotels. Soon, there won’t be anywhere to park in that area. And then what? The secret is out, and this once beautiful, historic town will be ruined by mass tourism and greedy developers.
A1 Portuguese lessons – this week’s lessons have ramped up by at least two notches, and my brain is officially fried. We are still working through Unit 6, in our students’ A1/A2 exercise book, and it is tough. I am acutely aware that I am the oldest person in the class and probably the dumbest when it comes to language learning. I keep asking questions, which slows down the class, but fortunately, the teacher is patient as she is aware I am struggling. Although I try desperately to keep up, I have the memory of a gnat, and I can’t seem to retain information as I once did. But I refuse to give in. I have started a notebook, where I plan to write ten words a day. Some words I already know, but most are new to me.
Espresso Martini – Mr P surprised me by making me an espresso martini. His first, and it won’t be his last. Delicious! Phew! A perfect way to relax after working in the garden. Our next project is to make
DEBBOBLER – What a BRILLIANT invention! Let me introduce you to the battery-operated jumper debobbler gizmo I’ve just ordered. The new winter jumpers I bought back in December had gone all bobbly and made the jumpers look old and tired before their time. You know what I mean? So many thanks to our daughter for introducing me to this

The jumper, after several passes of the debobbler, looks like new!
Do you have one?

I’m not looking, or at least trying NOT to, but one headline did catch my attention
Campaigners welcome Meta and YouTube’s defeat in landmark social media addiction trial
I am now trying to limit my time on social media platforms, especially FB, where I can easily lose an hour of my day scrolling. What are about you? Do you find FB addictive… or TikTok, Instagram et al?
That’s my coffeeshare for this week, folks. I know I’m late, but we have been working in the garden. My thanks to our hostess, Natalie the Explorer.
