Or should I say weeks! Yep, since my last post, “How Was Your Week? A Lot Better Than Last Week! the last couple of weeks, my feet have hardly touched the ground! It’s amazing how time flies.
Line Dancing Lunch
For those who have been following my blog for a while, will be aware that I love the line dancing group I belong to. I feel it’s more of a line dancing family rather than a class that meets once a week to line dance. Anyway, Mr Piglet was amazed that we all met for lunch at 12.30am and many of us were still partying nine hours later! What did we talk about for nine hours, Mr Piglet wanted to know….
Quality Time
I can’t even begin to express how excited I was when our daughter, who lives in France, said she was coming to visit us for the weekend. Saturday to Tuesday. Brilliant. The dishwasher saga was still ongoing, so I said we would eat out. And eat out we did. Her preference: restaurants with a view, walks, and beach time. Yep, the weather changed the day she arrived. Warm, dry and no wind. A first in months.
The first restaurant we lunched at was O Sargo on Monte Clerigo, but I never took any photos of the view and from there we took chairs onto the beach to sunbathe and chillax. My firt beach adventure since Christmas Day.
View from O Paulo’s, which is set high on the cliff above Arrifana with spectacular ocean views.

After my hospital appointment, we lunched at Casa da Rocha in Portimao.

Time on the beach: While I was disappointed not to be able to join Mr Piglet and our daughter for a walk along the shoreline, I amused myself watching children (not photographed) playing in the river formed during the heavy rains. I find walking in soft sand difficult.

I did manage one walk down the track to the cliffs.

Unfortunately, while she was here, I had to waste Monday morning at the hospital for a follow-up appointment to get the results of my Endoscopy to check the progress of Barrett’s esophagus. Luckily, we dropped her off at Agua Shopping Centre, so she was able to keep herself amused shopping, where she bought summer tops and a beautiful dress…. and my birthday present!
A Nice Surprise
I’d completely forgotten she had promised to give me my Birthday present while she was here… and what a lovely surprise worth waiting for! Pandora Earings

Airport Blues – Tuesday morning came around far too quickly, and it was time to drop our daughter off at the airport. I felt desperately sad, but with the knowledge that we will see her and all our family in April for a family holiday, I suppressed the tears as she waved us goodbye.
Finally….
Am I a food snob?
On the way home from the airport, I wanted to drop into IKEA at MAR Shopping to buy some storage containers as I plan to reorganise the larder. For the record, I hate IKEA because we always end up lost and walking in circles, and an argument ensues as we both lose patience. Once they get you into the shop, they are loath to let you leave. And of course, while we were there, Mr Piglet, who is obsessed with IKEA meatballs, insisted we had lunch. If I thought they were disgusting before, they look vile now. They are no longer meat but meat-and-vegetable cannoballs. Yuck! Hopefully, he is now cured of his IKEA meatball obsession.

I just had a salmon wrap.
Speaking of wraps, that’s a wrap for this Weekend Coffee Share. Have you had a good week?

I always went for the Ikea princess cake – not sure if they still do them. Your scenery shots are amazing, making me long for holiday time!

Hi Lana, I like the name princess cake. I can’t say I’ve seen it because Mr P always heads for the meatballs. Yes, the scenery is stunning in the WEstern Algarve and well worth a visit … but not at this time of year. It is raining and windy again

“Restaurants with a view”, it sound like your daughter has great taste! And those ear rings are lovely. How nice that she came for a visit.

I think she likes the fact we live by the sea so she doesn’t come here to look at a carpark or in a sidestreet… even if the food is better and less expensive. Yes, the earings are beautiful!

Beautiful! (Except for those meatballs – totally agree with you!)

Yes, we were extremely lucky with the weather considering the weeks of storms preceeding her stay

Oh! I’m so glad you were able to spend some solid time with your daughter and that the weather cooperated! Little bumps aside, it sounds like a perfect weekend! Hope your week ahead is wonderful, too!

A long weekend with your daughter, and all that sunny weather was the cherry on top! How fabulous, it doesn’t get better than that. Love your beach shots, what a beautiful place to live. *I have to agree on those “meatballs” they don’t really look like food. It’s easy to feel panicked in the IKEA, I haven’t gone in years – I like to see the exit door, or at least know where it is.

Hi Tracy, the weather was most definitely the cherry on the cake, especially as she loves the beach.
Yep, Mr P claimed they were better than they looked. Hmmmm I eat with my eyes!
We only went because we were passing on the way back from the airport.

IKEA reminds me of a casino I was in once. (And only once) Finding the door to the outside was a nightmare.
How lovely to have your daughter to stay. I absolutely know the feeling of joy when a grow child drops in!

Hi Cecilia, yep, both are a nightmare.
We loved having her to stay and spoil her. She works such long hours I worry.

I’m so happy you enjoyed some cherished time with your daughter. Ours was supposed to come to visit us here in South Texas in Feb, but something unexpected came up and they weren’t able to make the trip. At first I was disappointed, of course. And then I realized that everything happens for a reason, so I was OK. Your photos and the scenery are spectacular!

Hi Terry, what a shame she couldn’t visit! Yes, things do happen for a reason but sometimes I wonder what the reason is.
It’s lucky our daughter came last weekend as Mr P went down with a cold on Saturday and has been in bed.
Our local scenery is spectacular so when we think of places to go on holiday nothing comes close.
