When I read this MEME on the FB page ‘Positive Energy,’ I thought, ” Okay, it needs a tweak, but what a brilliant idea!”
I’ve been feeling rather low for some time, so before the black dog depression spiralled any further, I found an old container and wrote my first couple of positive energy notes. I firmly believe that the only person who can heal you is YOU.

I don’t intend to wait until the end of the year to read the notes; I’ll read them as a reminder of what makes me happy, personal achievements, etc., as a pick-me-up when I am feeling low.
AS for the exercise in the fresh air, I’m not sure how it affects the brain and mood, but it certainly lifted my spirits, and I felt more alive than when I sit hunched over my PC or doom scrolling on my phone.
I also discovered the website powerofpositivity.com if anyone is interested.
How do you lift your spirits and stay positive?

Nice idea! I start the day reading my Bible and taking care of my cat and chickens. I love my silly chickens. As often as possible, I try to walk. Sometimes it’s just up and down some hilly streets in my neighborhood, but on weekends I try to go somewhere nicer. I hope you keep up your positive thinking!

Hi ephesians413, yes, I can imagine the Bible brining comfort. And as for chickens I used to study my daughters chickens for hours. I loved them. Always up to mischief and finding some new waays to escape their run. Did you ever watch the film ‘chicken run’

I love this idea. Either last thing at night or first thing in the morning, I try to think of three things for which I am grateful, no matter how small. Perhaps I should write them down… Walking Zeph (my blue merle) helps lift my spirits, even when the weather is bad. Hope it’s not too late, nor inappropriate to send you best wishes for 2026 x

Hi June, Feliz Ano Novo! 🙂 Yes, I think the little notes are such a good idea. In this day and age where the world is turned upsidedown, insideout and backtofront we it is important to remind ourselves of things to be grateful as there are those who are far worse off than us.
I can imagine after taking our daughter’s blue merle for walks lifting your spirit even on a cold wet morning. They are such fun and adorable dogs.

I think this is a great idea! I am trying a gratitude practice this year, with the same purpose as your notes. https://greendreamssweden.com/daily-gratitude-practice-2026/

Hi Maria, yes this is a good idea and I try to follow your progress. I did think about joining you but it takes me such a long time to create a blog post compared to scribbling a note I knew I would be setting myself up to fail. 😦

Power walking before and during sunrise sets my energy level for the entire day, Carole. After that, I try to do some creative things like painting, taking photos, doing photo editing, and finally, some writing. I love the idea of the notes.

Hi Terry. Wow power walking before and during sunsrise … I am impressed. I am still asleep. I can imagine it must be fantastic time of day to walk. I’d say I’ll try it BUT I know it wont happen.
Doing something creative during the day is SO important.
