This senryu is for Colleen’s Poetry challenge. Each week we are given two prompt words but we can only use synonyms not the words themselves. This week the prompt words are ‘slow” and “work”. This challenge is for syllabic poetry forms: Tanka, Haiku, Senryu, Haibun, Etheree, Nonet, Shadorma, and Cinquain poetry.

Given the prompt words, my choice of topic is a little ‘off-the-wall’ but hey, as we are organising a fun Valentine challenge over at WF, in collaboration with Flashes, I decided to make this a double challenge!
Actually, this Senryu fits well into the Haiga category, I introduced this week. The “wooden” heart with many cracks helps to magnify your words. I like it! ❤
