If you were an animal what would you be?

A little bit of fun…

My owners love mice - because they always shrieked with delight when I surprised them!
My owners love mice – because they always shrieked with delight when I surprised them!

If you were an animal what would you be?
What would you look like – what would we see?

Perhaps a spoilt house dog who’s pampered all day.
Walkies and treats “it’s a dog’s life” they say!

But “Puddy” cats rule as they strut round the house.
Owners left screaming at the sight of a mouse

A horse bred for riding or would that be meat?
A burro for working left out in the heat.

Maybe a chicken free range on the farm.
A goose in a gaggle to raise the alarm.

Then there are piglets as cute as can be.
But there’s only one piglet and that has to be me!

*************

Okay, here’s a bit of a challenge!

Which animal would you be and why?

For example. I’d be a pampered Vietnamese Pot-Bellied Pig because they are unique, fun, and affectionate.

Or if you really want a challenge write your answer in rhyming verse – I dare you!

Come on folks don’t be shy…

    1. Oh – I forgot to say why. You’ve read the book – you explain why you think I’d be a lioness! 😀

Your review was wonderful. I have it on good authority it is not usual for authors to comment on Amazon, so I thanked all the reviewers on my blog, but I don’t think it is the same, so this seems like a good opportunity to say a great big THANK YOU!!

  1. I would like to be a cat
Doing none of this and that
On a sunny sill I’d lay
    Sleeping,dozing most of the day
    Outstretched,cosy,quiet relaxing
Life would never be so taxing
    Ginger,stripy,silky fur
    Contented happy all a purr
    One request before I fade
Please will you name me MARMALADE

  2. Once upon a time we watched a tv show on baboons. There was this one curious fellow that decided to look under a rock for food. He lifted the rock and saw a snake that was under it and then passed out. When he came too, again he lifted the rock, saw the snake and passed out, he did the same thing again when he came too…
I think that perhaps I’m a bit like that Baboon in the sense that I do the same things over and over and expect different results… which by-the-way is the definition of ‘insanity’ as coined by Albert Einstein. 😆

  3. A pampered pooch I would be
No smelly dog beds or kennels for me
I would sleep upon my human’s bed
Concede some space for him to lay his head
Next to mine where he can gaze
Upon my soft and gentle eyes
And give thanks for all my days

      1. Sorry to take so long getting back to you but had to go back through ‘history’ to find the page. I was exploring WordPress and came to a page called Community Pool. You had answered someone and I loved your Avatar (and what it said) and thought your page must be worth checking out. I was right, of course. ;-))

If I could be ANY animal in the world . . . I’d be a human being. 😀

  5. Wouldn’t it be nice
    if all of the mice,
    Divulged, if you please,
    their knowledge of cheese,
    Now what could be better,
    Than a discourse on Feta
Or gooder than Gouda or brie?
    The tales mice could tell
    Of texture and smell
A cultured feast it would be.
    But alas you’ll not find
    A mouse who’s so kind
Who’ll part with a single fact.
    For although they can speak
    Albeit in Squeak
    Other language they definitely lack.

  6. A pussy cat I think I would be
But only if I belonged to me
I would want to be spoiled rotten
Sleep on sheets of crisp white cotton
Get my food whenever I ask
And pass my days in the sun I bask
Taunt the dogs and catch the mouse
I really am the boss of this house!

  7. I’m not a poet so I can’t compete here! But animals? As a highly sensitive introvert I wouldn’t be a herd animal. Something that likes people but also likes to get away by herself easily, something that enjoys watching people, enjoys the comforts of home but enjoys being able to roam free… sounds like a domestic cat to me!

    1. Cheetah! wow that’s a step up from the puddy cat AJ
I can imagine what you’d bring home to surprise people. They are beautiful animals…
      How about
A magnificant cheetah roaming wild and free
On wide African plains, that is me!

  8. I would like to own a pot-bellied pig, but I would be either a dolphin because they are intelligent and love to play, or a koala because they spend most of the day sleeping, and the rest of the time they are either having sex (tee hee) or getting high on eucalyptus leaves.

    1. LOL I am glad someone else has dyslexic fingers. The times I type something and then as I press send I spot a strange array of spelling. However, I knew exactly what you meant…but are you sure you want to be a butterfly?

      1. Definitely yes! Well, two husbands and just about everyone on the distaff side has called me such anyways! Can’t fight nature 🙂 ! BUT I am NOT the one pigging out on your cabbages – my own black kale has had a horrendous year also!! And I’m not one of the anaemic breed: my old facebook pic was of a glorious brown sitting on red blossoms: still use it over a year after quitting fb 🙂 !

  9. If I were animal it’s a bird I’d like to be
Free to soar over the land and sea
No more flying about with our friends easyjet
I’d flying first class just just like the Jet set

No security checks or passport control
Life would be fun I’d be on a roll
No mortgage or rent just a nest in a tree
Imagine that life just totally FREE

Wouldn’t it be great not to be at the mercy of easyjet when we fly home.

Strangely enough I was thinking of a bird – a seagull or maybe a swallow

On second thoughts…. I hope you are not one of the pigging cabbage whites that lay eggs on my cabbages which turn to a mas of wrything maggots. CRY…as they eat my precious cabbages.

  11. I’d like to be an eagle
    With massive outstretched wings
    Looking for a little mouse
    And other tasty things

    Dropping from the heavens
    Swooping far below
    Shame about the little mouse
    He really had to go
