The purpose of today’s post is not only to share a few photos of my recent trip to Lyon but also to celebrate overcoming the technical challenges presented by creating a slide show. I’d spotted the slide show feature on a blog (sorry I can’t remember which one) a couple of weeks ago, and thought what a brilliant idea. Fortunately for me, and I am sure I can speak for a lot of other non-techie bloggers, WordPress is quite user friendly. So after “fiddling” for several hours I hit on the solution. It may not have been “conventional” as I added the html code myself, but it worked!
Et Voilá another blogging mystery solved.
Yes, I am easily pleased and as you can probably tell I don’t get out much.
Regarding my “snapshot” tour of Lyon I can only say while I appreciated the architecture, the wonderful selection of shops, novel loos, expensive coffee (not), gridlocked traffic (not) it was great to return home where a traffic jam consists of four cars, coffee costs one euro, the air is not polluted and I can just gaze out to sea as the sun sets over the Ocean. Peace…
Are you a townie or a country girl at heart?
What a wonderful idea!! I’m going to go see if I can figure out how to do this as well! I started fiddling with a slideshow the other day but there was some reason why it wasn’t displaying correctly so, you have once again inspired me to “press on!”
I’m a country girl all the way baby! 🙂

Hi Lee,
I think my daughter may find this funny as I am the least “techie” person imaginable!

Great post…and I loved the Turkish loo – in France! Mind you, it looks pretty clean compared to some loos I’ve visited on my travels (I won’t go into to many details, suffice to say a bucket of water was required to wash away the sea of smelly stuff that covered the floor before I could venture any nearer the hole in the ground – let alone use it!)
Great slideshow – well done for figured it all out. If you have the instructions written out , I’d really love a copy – thanks a million!

Love your slide show, maybe you’ll spare me a minute or so to tell me how to do? Also, would you mind if I used some of your pics on my blog (credit would be given 😉 )?

My pleasure fellow piglet! I will send some pictures by email along with instructions on how to make a slide show. It certainly saves space and would also be good for using with recipes etc
The impression looks a little different if you just go to the home page…you may may need to make the first picture of the post static…I need to experiment with this further…wordpress is like a voyage of discovery 🙂

The pictures are absolutely beautiful! And I’m impressed that you learned to do a slideshow! I’ve still got some other blog basics to learn, but, one of these days…As to the city or country girl question: count me as country girl, for sure.

Hi Pip, congrats on the slide show. It looks great with your beautiful photos. I think I have a little of both in me. Like the city but I think I would love to live in the country with wide open spaces and plenty of fresh air. 🙂
